As one of the CSR programs in Thailand, PPG recently sponsored the renovation project of Wat See Hook School, which was highly spoken by its students and teachers. This project was funded by PPG Global Charitable Fund and volunteers from PPG Thailand took an active part in it.
Located in Ayutthaya Province, Wat See Hook School suffers from floods every year, which has caused severe damages to the campus. It took about one month and a half to complete the renovation project, covering electric system, library room, entertainment facilities and ground floor under the main building. The renovated campus is safer and cleaner than before, creating a comfortable and safe environment for the students. In addition, PPG also awarded scholarship to all the 90 students, each of whom received 1000 THB to support their study, clothing and books expenses.
"I would like to express my sincere appreciation to PPG on behalf of our students. Many charity organizations came to visit us after the flood, but few of them offered substantial support as PPG does." said Pimchana, a teacher at Wat See Hook School.
On December 13, to celebrate the successful completion of the renovation project, 30 employees from PPG Thailand came to the school that has taken on a new look. PPG Engineer Team audited the newly installed electrical system and concrete the ground floor under the main building and tile placing. They also joined the students in lunch and helped rearrange the books and all stuffs in the library room.
"PPG is committed to support its local community and education has always been the key area of PPG'S CSR efforts," said Siwimon Sukmahan, PPG SLC Human Resource Manager, Thailand. "Renovation project of Wat See Hook School is just one of the typical examples. In the future, we will continue to sponsor more programs to help those in need."
